Surprise Emotions and Products:YINYANG Chopsticks 2024
We wanted to start with a seemingly ordinary appearance and create a sense of surprise when the user experiences the tension while using the chopsticks. As the tips begin to curl, they function like a clip, adding an unexpected twist. This is a one-piece chopstick design, with a circular connector in the middle. It also serves as an assistive chopstick, making it suitable for those who are not familiar with using chopsticks or those interested in exploring different forms of tableware.
BBQ TOOLKIT:K KIT 2024
I opted not to redesign the barbecue grill itself; instead, I focused on creating a solution that streamlines the entire barbecue process. Given that our project centers on a Portable Barbecue, it is intended for use in diverse settings, including outdoor environments. Through our research, we discovered that the absence of a designated, clean area for storing food and tools significantly complicates the barbecue experience. Therefore, my design is geared towards enhancing the barbecue rack to address these issues effectively.

KOHA Project- INCENSE HOLDER:烟云出岫 MELODY 2023
Melody is anincense holder I designed, with its Chinese name "烟云出岫," which means "smoke and clouds drifting out of the mountains," perfectly reflecting my design concept. Its English name, "Melody," comes from the flowing patterns on the container that resemble drifting smoke, much like a musical melody.
The form of this container is inspired by ancient Chinese "zun" vessels—three-legged wine cups and containers similar to "ding." However, since wine cups must meet food safety requirements, I adapted the design into an incense burner to avoid such concerns.
Strong Wool Project - Manta Ray Gaming Mouse:MR RAY 2024
The Manta Ray Gaming Mouse (MR RAY) is a product I designed as my third-year independent project at university.
Our design philosophy revolves around the application of strong wool (fiber diameter < 28μm), a material that is severely underrated across various related industries. Due to its coarse texture, strong wool is unsuitable for clothing and most textiles that come into direct contact with the skin. As a result, it is often considered a byproduct or agricultural waste, typically disposed of through burning or direct burial.
